Dear List,
I have a client with a database replication issue. They are using
websync to a hosted server. This system has worked until recently,
however now consistently fails to replicate.
Main server is MSSQL Enterprise 2005 sp2
Remote(s) SQL is MSSQL Standard 2005 sp2
Error as follows from remote server logs:
2009-05-18 10:31:36.359 Uploaded a total of 1300 chunks.<nl/>
2009-05-18 10:31:43.203 Uploaded a total of 1400 chunks.<nl/>

1# Client believes that the size of the data being replicated is perhaps
larger than a specified limit.
2# A third party believes the problem is at with websync and it cannot
see the server, however it has worked prior to a 'large' update.
Database size total is 600mb.
3# Logs seem to state that the connection from IIS to SQL box are not
with correct user/pass, however logs have been consistent for several
days and the error occurred Sat eve.
4# Client has changed Internettimeout value, no change. Client has
increased -HistoryVerboselevel, no change.
5# It is understood that the replication works via VPN, however this is
not what they want to use.
I appreciate that 1# and 2# statements conflict with each other, but I
have some of this info 3rd hand.
Questions:
1. Is there a replication size limit using SQL 2005 / websync, can it be
changed?
2. Having searched briefly, there is little citing the errors above,
however, is this a common problem?
3. We have requested all available logs, but is there a tool to test
these connections?
4. Noted that there is SQL 2005 sp3 available, however not willing to
change anything until some more info is to hand.
5. Is there anyone on list that may be available to help resolve the
problem?
