Hi Listers

The battle of the CMS has definately come up previously but I would welcome
anyone's recent experience on this.

I'm developing an open-source system for a local voluntary organisation;
currently leaning towards Drupal and CiviCRM.

They need to run a members, contacts, events, volunteers type database
(containing sensitive information about members);a forum;website;events
management, integration with social networking sites...anything useful to
reach their members.

An essential part of what they do requires detailed profiling and stats of
users(eg tracking contact, action and outcomes) to support funding
applications. I know Drupal can have custom data fields and is endlessly
tweakable but i was interested if anybody had a better experience elsewhere?

Has anyone developed anything similar with Drupal & CiviCRM? Can you suggest
anything better? I would particularly appreciate any info on data protection
and security issues.

Also are there any widely-adopted standards of classification for content
categories on websites?Does anyone have experience of using the CCS (

Any feedback greatly appreciated

Mike
