WOW - What a passionate thread and quite right!
I don't think there are any good indian resturants in Brighton (or many
other towns). I think they make the dishes by combining pre-cooked meat and
veg with a pre-cooked onion sludge but I could be wrong.
Because most people have low expectations of indian food they get away with
it. They don't seem to have any pride in the food produced all produce the
same oily, oniony slop that repeats on you for 24 hours afterwards.
Proper indian food is cooked from scratch with fresh, whole ingredients:
chopped onion, whole spices, garlic, ginger etc. Make it at home from a
decent recipie and you will see what I mean.
I did have a good indian meal once in Brighton in George street in a place
doing an Elvis and Curry night and it wasn't even an Indian resturant!
