I haven't had any problems with my o2 connection.
Whenever you're experiencing connection slow down your best bet is to 
run a traceroute as the internet watch foundation tend to snoop in on 
connections, specially the 1st couple of weeks as a new customer.
You'll be able to tell if you're being proxied by them if the 4th hop 
(if you're running the traceroute from a machine hanging off the router) 
from you shows up as a private address 10.10.10.x (if I remember right). 
hops 2 & 3 will draw a blank as they don't reply.
