Most of the time when you have a  fast Internet connection and the browsing
speeds are slow it is down to your ISP's DNS servers.

I use BE too and never really see any slowdown - but I do not user their DNS
servers.

If you switch and use the servers at opendns.org  you will probably get a
much better experience browsing.

Just change your DNS servers in your router or on your local PC (depending
if you want all machines on the network to use opendns or just one machine)
to:

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220 Should make things much faster for you.
