[BNM] camping in france

My girlfriend and I have got eurostar tickets to Avignon (south or 
france) - out on 10th June

I was planning to hire a car down there (although apparently the rail 
network is great?)

stay in a few campsites (preferably in a mobile home or chalet rather 
than a tent)

Does anyone have any knowledge of the area, especially as far as seaside 
towns and camping goes?
