IANAL but my understanding of this is that this is an ineffective proof 
- because the proof is sealed inside an envelop which needs to be opened 
to reveal the document, thus destroying the admissibility of the proof 
into evidence because once opened the envelope is disparate from the 
document.

I think it's fair to say that sending a registered letter is useless.

My understanding is that the best approach is to write it down (with 
diagrams if appropriate), and get a trusted friend (or friends) who to 
sign and date each page.
