[BNM] shopping cart software / includes auto dispatch notification etc

Hello all,
I've been using amongst others Mals cart for more simple lower budget 
eCommerce sites that plug onto the back of their static pages and at the 
more complex end Actinic.
I'm looking for an alternative cart to use for a current 'mals' client 
as they need to have more control over the back end and more automated 
processes such as dispatch notification & shipping tracking etc...
Anyone got any ideas as to a nice piece of software that could do this 
at all??
