Thanks for all that. I'll check it out. I am just looking to be able to
maintain a site and make the occasional layout and content change. Nothing
fancy.

What is it you want to do with Drupal? There's a few good books -
Drupal Pro development is the one I use, also have a review of Drupal
Social Networking on my http://stevepurkiss.com site if that's the
area you want to get into.
I will be doing more Drupal tutorials, just no dates set yet.
Also feel free to join our club at
http://groups.drupal.org/south-east-uk and ask any questions you like
on there.
