[BNM] UI thoughts - "my favourite"

Following last week's very interesting post about paging conventions, I
thought I'd throw this one out to the BNMers to see if anyone had any
thoughts.... Here's the scenario:
A user is presented with a number of items and they are supposed to select
the one that they like the most. How can this be effectively communicated?
Web users are familiar with the yellow star which has come to mean
"favourite" but in the sense of a bookmark rather than the user's favourite
one. Last.fm have made good use of a red heart but that really means "i love
this" rather than "this is my favourite".
Does anyone have any ideas or know of any already-used graphical conventions
to communicate this idea?
cheers, Alex =]
