[BNM] Large File Exchange

Hey james - having heard about S3 wasn't sure if it did the user account
stuff but upon reading (at last) it seems to do so!
By my equations at $0.18/GB a month my friend would need to store 30GB to be
on a par with Dreamhost BUT of course the transfer would be extra on S3 - so
say that 30GB was uploaded and downloaded each month then that would be
$3.00 up and $5.10 down per month coming to a total of $13.50 per month - in
the grand scheme of things still quite cheap and I am sure the performance
on Amazon is good (anyone?) - this is one thing I worry about with Dreamhost
- will it be dog slow?
Glad to say it's not my decision but thanks chaps for the info
Cheers,
Ali

How about Amazon S3?
Its dirt cheap (18 cents per GB)and there are lots of desktop clients so you
can access/browse your buckets just like FTP. Its also got a good
permissions based security model.
