Freeview TV transmitters are restricted in their power output until the
analogue switch off.
So if your freeview reception is currently unreliable & intermittent
or you've got boosters plugged in to make things work you should at
least consider getting a new one aerial. With line of sight between a
modern aerial and Whitehawk hill transmitter you should get nearly 100%
showing up as station signal strength for all channels (Multiplexes)
without any boosters.
Asking you immediate neighbours about their experiences gives more
useful information given the topology of Brighton and the two possible
transmitters to point at. It can also lead to some cost savings if you
have a terraced house and both want new aerials on a shared chimney stack.
