Well firefox isn't standing still either.  3.1 promises much faster
javascript thanks to the tracemonkey JIT compiler.  And as Sevan
pointed out, IE8 will make similar architectural changes to isolate
processes and improve stability.  Plugins are what will keep me with
Firefox.

Hoping the linux version won't take too long...
