Ok, pens down
a little more crunching of the grey matter says x/144*16 = width and x/144*9
= height
thank you aspidistra.

Subject: [BNM] aspect ratio guide
Hi
This might be easy for someone -for me it's breaking my head....
I have an unknown quantity of boxes and wish to group them into an aspect
ratio - in this case 16:9
So if I have 144 boxes I know my rectangle will be 16 boxes across and 9
boxes high
What if I have 1200 boxes or 312 boxes?
If anyone can point me to a formula for this I would be most grateful!
Cheers,
Ali
