[BNM] LCN Domain Registrar?

-1 for 1&1

For the last 3 years I've received letters from angry bailiffs wanting 
to collect the £10 for the auto-renew of a domain I bought for a friend 
years ago which I no longer have the email address associated with the 
1&1 account. Each year I've spent about half a day trying to cancel this 
domain and any accounts I've got with 1&1 and each year I've given up 
because out of frustration. Awful awful company.
