[BNM] mac repairs (again) [OT]

I asked about something similar before but.....

My friend was all set to upgrade his ibook hard disk(about 3/4 years old) 
and it's just died on him. Cancom are telling him that it could be a loose 
connection or faulty logic board. I'm sure they're right but I think my 
friend wants someone to open it up and at least take a look to see whether 
it's an easy fix or a new logic board. He doesn't want to spend a lot of 
money as he was about to stick a new hard disk in. It's got to the point 
where he's either going to do a simple fix + new hard disk or buy new 
macbook (about 600 +VAT)

Would anyone be able to look into his ibook and give him a bit of advice. I 
was quite happy to sort out his hard disk but this isn't really what I can 
do. Please email me and I'll pass on your details. A phone number is 
probably most useful as I'll get him to ring you (as his computer is broken)
