1st / 2nd Line IT Support Engineer Required

Wessex Networks is looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic engineer to join a tight-knit team at our Crawley offices.  As a company, we offer many different services, which will provide an exciting and varied job in a fun working environment.  This position is an excellent opportunity for somebody at the start, or early on in their IT career to develop a diverse portfolio of skills.
We are looking for someone to support our following business areas (in order of priority):

*       Computer, Network and general IT services to SMEs
*       Business-class hosting solutions
*       Internet Connectivity and network solutions

Your main responsibility will be providing first and second line IT support to our SME customers in around West Sussex and London.  You will be required to deal with customers on a day to day basis, and as such you must be comfortable talking to clients on the phone as well as on site and have good written skills for email communication.  You must be organised, punctual and diligent.
Responsibilities include helpdesk duties traditionally associated with this type of role (email and telephone) as well as working in the workshop, and on site - either on your own, or assisting other engineers.

We expect the candidate to have a sound understanding of:

*       PC hardware, troubleshooting and installation
*       Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems (XP, Vista)
*       Microsoft Office
*       Installing and setting up basic wired and/or wireless networks
*       A screwdriver

We are looking for somebody with an aptitude for working in IT support both in the office, and in the field.  Experience (commercial or otherwise) in any areas aforementioned is not essential, but experience with or exposure to: Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Backup Exec, DNS, Linux, Mac OS or more advanced networking will bolster your application.

We are a small business - no day is likely to be the same (this is a good thing!), and you will often be required to "muck in" wherever you can.  We really need a "can do" attitude - a talented candidate that is organised, methodical and enjoys a challenge!

Up to £17,000 pa.  28 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays).
