Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to diagnose a problem from such
a problem statement.
Windows is enormously complex, so the cause could be many things, and
the fix could be simple or extraordinarily complex.

Determining this requires either good guesswork, or complex technical
activities.

My guess? It's a memory issue, and you'll need a techie to either run
a memory test (the memtest86 software mentioned) or to swap out your
RAM and see if that fixes the problem. But that's just my guess, and
I've only been using windows since v2.11, so I'm not an expert.
