Anyone used this http://www.webload.org for load testing etc?
I've been playing with it for the last couple of hours... seems quite good
and the documentation is fairly in-depth... like there's about 6 pdfs etc,
but the FAQ doesn't seem to have an answer to my question which is WTF?
Because although I can get everything to go, I don't really understand what
the results mean.
It draws these graphs of:
Load Size
Hits per second
Round time
Throughput bytes/second
and there are setup parameters like :
Starting load size (5)
Concluding load size (10)
and I don't know what they are either - though I suspect they're the number
of concurrent sessions etc.
The bleeding obvious, in other words, is eluding me.
And what am I supposed to look for to improve site performance etc? Do I
just ramp up the load-sizes until the throughput grinds to a halt or are
there more nuanced approaches?
Looks like quite a cool bit of kit though. Does funcionality testing as well
by the looks.
