AFAIK the only differences between the two is that the 8gb is black, has 
a slightly larger screen and its got 8gb of internal memory!

The silver one has wifi, GPS and the rest of the gubbins. It takes 
microSD cards so I guess it boils down to whether you intend to use your 
phone as an MP3 / Movie player and need the extra memory.

I've had my N95 for the past year and I've be really happy with it but I 
think I'd going to go for a iPhone when they come out. I've also got an 
iPod touch and have been really impressed with it so if the new iPhone 
can build on this then I'm sold. The downloadable apps are also a big 
attraction for me.
