[BNM] Linux on a MacBook?

Hi Tom,

My flatmate has just installed ubuntu on his macbook pro but he's a very
high-level linux-head so that says nothing for the ease of doing it. I
know he had problems with silly things like if you boot from cd when
you're installing, it won't let you eject the cd.... =/

On the music side of things I would highly recommend emusic. It's a
subscription based thing. I pay £15 / month and get 75 tracks per month
to d/l. They've got a pretty good catalogue of indie stuff (the majors
aren't on there). It's the biggest catalogue apart from itunes on the
net and I read this morning that the new itunes player doesn't support
m3u playlist files and that they've probably done that because it's the
format emusic use for their previews. The more i hear about apple, the
less i like them.
