I'm hooking up my mac-mini to the TV for ease of film viewing and have a few
niggles getting a reasonable picture.

My TV is an old Sony with a single scart at the back and S-Video /
Composite video ports under a flap on the front.

I bought a DVi to S-Video converter and when I hooked up the mac DVI to
S-Video into the S-Video port on the front I got a surprisingly clear
picture and was delighted. Front Row looks awesome! Trouble was all the AV
cables hanging out the front of the TV. So I picked up an S-Video to scart
converter and plugged it in the back. Now the picture is terrible - almost
impossible to see. What gives? Should there be a difference? Is the cable
faulty? Any ideas people?

To summarise:

Mac-Mini DVI -> S-Video -> TV (S-Video in) - 9/10 picture quality.

Mac-Mini DVI -> S-Video -> SCART -> TV (SCART in) - 1/10 picture quality.

Any ideas?

Steve
