So you want to hack an ascii terminal into a video screen in order to
display art as ascii?

Assuming you have an RS232 interface on the terminal, then 30-year old
soldering skills and the right plugs for each end will be plenty.
You'll just need to make an RS232 null modem cable, which is as easy
as networking gets.
I'd be more concerned about the character resolution of the terminal.
Is it 40 char wide or 80? If your ascii art is too wide, it'll
probably line-wrap.
