[BNM] MAMP vs MAMPstack - is there much of a difference?

I am a bigener PHP dev and am crossing over to a MAC.

I looked at both  MAMP pro and MAMPstack as I have no experience of
Terminal and need to get my dev platform up and running asap.

During the install of MAMPpro it said I would need to register after
two weeks to keep using the soiftware so then plumed for MAMPstack.

Is one better than the other?
