[BNM] Locked out of my MacBook pro

Hi, just bought a macbook off Ebay which came with a Norwegian keyboard and
no media , fired her up, got the welcome screen for Leopard, I went though
some settings like British keyboard, network, my details, username and
password blah blah. Once all done I hit continue and it asked me to log in.
Now it won’t recognise my username / password (I use a complex one but the
same one mostly) and as I had to type it twice to confirm it in the set up I
find it hard to believe I would have typed it wrong twice. I have tried all
variations I can think of but no joy.
The only thing I could think was that the keyboard layout was Norwegian when
I entered the password and once setup was complete the keyboard layout
changed to British. Having looked at both layouts online the characters I
use seem to be the same on both.
Anyone got any ideas? (I’m an old Mac user but am not the familiar with them
any Longer after using Windows for work for the past god knows how long) As
I don’t have the media I cannot just re-install.
