[BNM] SSI of a SHTML file into an XML file

Hi list

I have an xml file and I want to add a ssi to pull in an shtml file
using the following code:

<!--#include virtual="/path/to/file/name.shtml" -->

My xml doc isn't including it though. In fact when viewing the source
there is no code at all.

The server is tomcat 5.5. Do I need to tell the server to parse shtml
files in xml doc's?
