[BNM] [OT] University funding for single mums

Hi Mike

Higher Education ceased being free in 1998, although as Richard said, there are loans available and some grants were recently reintroduced in cases of financial hardship. There is also the 'access' fund available via the university (the Students Union can tell you more about how this works).

There may also be help available for single parents, and I know that the criteria for 'hardship' are less severe for those who are deemed to be 'self supporting' but there are acres of form-filling to go yet.

Good luck!

All the best

Yes but she should be able to get a student loan regardless of current financial status to cover this.
