In Virgin's defence, I have never had issues with them. Reasonable speed.
I have torrents running all the time (of totally legal stuff and never,
ever American shows that I can't wait for of course) and am a pretty heavy
user, and I haven't had to even reset my cable modem more than twice in
the year I've had them. I'm not sure if it hits 4Mb/s all the time, but it
is certainly a good speed, and it doesn't just crap out randomly like
other providers I've used (including pre-Virgin NTL in another area).

Also? Can't put a price on getting someone in the same country on the line
within five rings whenever you call their support line. Well, you probably
could, but it'd be more than a couple of quid a month, I guess.
