[BNM] Response to tender

Right so, you've been asked to tender for a website/application and you want
to produce a response. What should a good tender document contain? Apart
from the obvious, identifying the problem and providing a solution, what
else should you include?

Overview of the company

skillsets

Break down of costs

Estimated timescales?

Schedule of payment?

Anything else?

Is there a standard structure for these?

Would you go as far as providing sample site maps/DFD's or leave that for
the planning stages.

How designed do you make it, nice PDF or stuff it in a word doc?

In all my years in development I've never had to write one, and in my
freelance days most of my projects have come via... "Can you do it?" -
"Yup!" - "How much?" - "Err, that much" - "Ok then!"

Without giving away any secrets, all pointers most appreciated.

Cheers

Pat.
