Sigmer is seeking to fill the key management position of *Development 
Manager* in our Brighton Office.

Sigmer Technologies provides bespoke and packaged software applications 
and IT solutions to the corporate, charity and public sectors. Our 
clients include British Sky Broadcasting, The International Save the 
Children Alliance, British Film Institute, Scottish and Newcastle U.K. 
and United Nations organisations.

The Company was founded in 1999 and is based in The Sussex Innovation 
Centre at the University of Sussex, Falmer, Brighton where the majority 
of our 30 staff are located.

Our core service and product offerings include:

. IT consultancy.
. Website consultancy - including usability and accessibility
. Application design and development

. Internet/Intranet design, development and hosting

*Job Description: *

	

Sigmer Technologies Ltd is looking for a development manager to work in 
our Brighton office. Reporting to the Technical Director key 
responsibilities include:

    *

      Management and Leadership of the development team.

    *

      Resourcing

    *

      Line Management

As a key member of the management team we are looking for someone who is 
interested in developing their career with us as we develop and grow the 
company.

Successful candidates should enjoy leading in a stimulating team 
environment; have the enthusiasm and ambition to complete projects to 
the highest standard and want to be part of an organisation that puts 
technology at the heart of everything it does.

We are looking for an individual with an ambition to succeed!

*Skills* *Range: *

	

. Commercial experience in Web Application development and/or software 
development is essential.

. Experience of managing object oriented programming / modular 
programming is essential.

. Experience of LAMP and Java essential; Additional experience of MS 
technologies is desirable. Technical knowledge of database technologies 
is also required.

. Experience of the full software development lifecycle: from 
business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional 
specification authoring, to development, QA and delivery is essential.

. Excellent levels of communication. Both written and verbal.

. Excellent people management skills: mentoring, delegation, management 
and comfortable managing a team of 10-15 IT professionals both locally 
and remotely.


*Salary: *

	

£35,000 - £40,000 commensurate with experience
