[BNM] 2.0 web based CRM recommendation please

Hi Oliver,

We've been using Salesforce.com for over 2 years now. It's not perfect,
but it's not that far off. You pay a price for the feature-set though.
We're using the one up from the basic version and there's a helluva lot
of functionality there.

The Outlook integration is pretty good, for instance their toolbar
provides a 'Send and Add' button, which sends the email as normal, but
also allows you to store it in the CRM system alongside the relevant
contact, their company and also a relevant sales opportunity. It also
has a self-service support portal and ticketing system.

For an extra fee, there's also an API, which hooks you into most of
their systems. Apparently they've also released a toolset to allow
companies to create their own web-based applications using the
Salesforce infrastructure. I haven't had a chance to delve into that
yet.

If I remember rightly, there's a personal - 1 user - version that you
can use for free:

http://www.salesforce.com

Having said all that, I've also heard good things about SugarCRM, but
I've not had a chance to play with it myself.

Hope that helps.

Toodle Pip

Sam
