I'm no bloater but my fitness did need improving so started regular
jogging, but maintained my diet of take aways and beer. I also kept a
diary e.g. 5 laps round the park took X mins...Plus the days I
slacked off through hangovers..

I then decided to set myself a goal so I'm currently training for the
10k run (November 18th).
After reading a few training programs and hints and tips on diet I
have started to see the results and you do feel chuffed with yourself
when you see improvements - feeling less tired after exercise, average
heart rate coming down during exercise, being able to go further and
quicker. You can also notice when your having good/bad days and take
action accordingly.

P.S. I have knocked the booze on the head for two reasons I) I can
drink like a fish and it costs me a fortune 2) Really does pile on the
calories/fat. Got to say its not as hard as I thought it would be.
Still drink pints of fizzy liquid except its Soda and Lime rather than
Export and costs a fraction of the price (3 weeks and counting). Its
not so hard when you have a goal - just wonder what I'm going to do
afterwards....
