[BNM] How do I wrap up a vmware server image so It can be runsomewhere else?

The only downside is you need VM player software installed and that
requires administrative rights (to set up the virtual network adaptors).
Not a problem if it's just for moving around your own PCs but a drawback
if you want a truly mobile VM.
There are efforts to build a live CD of e.g. Ubuntu with VMWare player
pre-loaded but this fails if the system administrator has blocked
booting from CD, which is pretty likely.
VM nirvana is sooo close, yet so far away...
