[BNM] Buying a macbook & haggling for extras

I managed to get a little bit of money knocked off and a soft case
thrown in, though the total value of that lot was probably only £30
or £40.

The other thing you could try is calling Apple's business sales (not
sure of the number, but it's on the web site somewhere - IIRC you go
to the Store, then there's a link to Business Store or some such). A
good few years ago I bought an iMac that way and got it for about
£100 less than the RRP. Don't know if they still do those kind of
discounts, but it doesn't hurt to ask...

Of course, the other way to save money, especially if you're buying
one of the top-end MacBook Pros, or fancy doing some other shopping
at the same time, is to buy a cheap ticket to New York and pop over
for the day ;-)

Good luck.

Cheers,

Jon
