I managed to install it on Ubuntu a while back and it is nice. It's not
crashed but it is a bit flakey. Some windows, firefox, thunderbird and the
websphere installation wizard window, open up as blank screens. With
firefox; a bit of jiggery-pokery resizing/maximising windows will bring the
content back. I've now switched it off for the time being but will probably
update it.
I'm pretty sure it was a breeze (!) to install and I wish I could remember
what I did. I'm pretty sure somone posted a good script somewhere which I
probably copied and pasted into a terminal window. Actually del.ici.ous has
some recommendations e.g.

(not sure about versions of ubuntu there)
The (sorry off topic) current Ubuntu annoyance is that on my dual booted
machine, if I boot into Ubuntu it messes with the time and so when I boot
into Windows the clock is an hour fast or slow (slow I think cos I've been
up late). I'm sure it's something to do with GMT/Summertime. Ubuntu seems
to be messing with the CMOS (or bios or whatever it's called) clock.
Although I've not actually gone into the bios and checked this. I probably
should. It's possible I've set the clock wrong in there and Ubuntu is
trying to correct it and windows isn't or something. I've ended up staying
up way past my bedtime sometimes.
I've got the Vista install stuff but am not yet ready to install it; except
that Halo2 is out for the PC and is "vista only".
