[BNM] jinxed by free work syndrome

Hello,

I don't speak to my brother much; he's usually too busy. Anyway he rang me
today and has asked me to do a website for him. All this talk of free work
has obviously jinxed me. I'm unusually worried about this as it could go
on forever.

He's going to quit his job and go into business for himself fitting
fireplaces/stoves etc in the midlands area. If enough people down here
wanted a wood burning stove etc. I might be able to get him down for a
week. He's been promising to come and fit a wood burning stove for me for
about 2 years.

Anyway can anyone suggest an appropriate way for me to set something up for
him.

I'm thinking:
a php/mysql based CMS -any suggestions? I think he'll want to upload
details/images of recent work and his showroom photos. Is Mambo still the
best choice for a simple site with simple CSS.

Something like a blog to get him to update it regularly with recent work.
Actually Wordpress might be useful with a RSS feed on the main page might
do it.

I think something that includes a wysiwyg editor (TinyMCE) would be nice.

Something that will allow me to easily add simple CSS. I'd appreciate some
tips on a basic design/layout as I generally use other peoples CSS and I'm
really not that creative. Off to zengarden but any tips for a simple look
greatly appreciated.

I think I've found a use for twitter. My brother wants to update the site
regularly (day to day) but not necessarily at the computer. I think he
wants to say where he is when he remembers so that potential customers
might ring him and say "Oh I see you're in Walsall today; how about looking
at my fireplace". I reckon he might be happy to text his whereabouts when
he remembers. I was thinking I'd also send him a text saying "where are
you?" as a reminder!

I know this is all obvious to some of you but I don't really get involved
with doing this kind of work; usually just work on stuff for my day job. I
could do some of this from scratch but I think this is a good excuse to
look at stuff suitable for businesses etc.

Jason
