I will summarise the job thusly; Adobe Flash Media encoder uses a
crap-quality audio codec (Nellymoser) for live stream encoding. The
quality is unacceptable. Could you provide an alternative system using
something like ffmpeg or mplayer?
Detailed spec follows:
The purpose of the development is to produce a professional grade
replacement for the Adobe Flash Media Encoder in order to stream live video
and synchronized audio as FLV streams that are fully compatible with the
Adobe Flash Media Server v2.02 and above.
The application must run on PC workstation hardware with Intel Core 2 Duo
CPU and support the Viewcast Osprey 530 professional video capture card.
The application may be developed for Windows XP Pro or for Linux Red Hat.
The software must support a high quality video encoder and a minimum of MP3
audio using Opensource codecs where possible.
The software must support multiple instances so that multiple streams can be
produced simultaneously.
The software must be capable of rendering its output streams with no more
than twenty (20) seconds' delay behind live.
The development timeline will be tight once approved and consideration
should be given to weekend work and long days when pricing the job.
We will be producing a full functional spec. when we have selected the
development partner.
