You people are a bunch of terrible old-school kermudgeons.

You were the people who were into Emerson Lake and Palmer when the Sex
Pistols came along (ooh, that's not musicianship). You're my grandmother
going "ooh, this modern music is dreadful, you can't hear the words".

Somewhere there's a law of contagion that goes something like:

"When you have memes that create their own environments, whichever one
allows itself to spread the fastest wins"

and another that goes:

"Armour plating is a paradigm shift waiting to happen", or more
accurately : "Expensive is cheap waiting to happen"

PHP rocks because it's easy and free. The internet is what it is because
anyone can learn basic HTML in a day. MySpace is a designer's nightmare
and an entrepreneur's wet dream. There's a pattern here.

PHP? Works for me. Java? Who cares? In the time that it would take me to
read the manual, I could have already written the same thing with PHP
and moved on to something new - and I daresay there are people saying
the same thing about RoR vs PHP.

Crap is the new Great - and in a funny sort of way, it always has
been... it's just that crap gets to be a bit annoying after a while...
so people work to make it great, unwittingly paving the way for new crap.

So that's my thought for the day.
