Corrected....
Hi All,
Wondering if someone can help...
I am running a wireless router (with WPA encryption) with SSID = ABC (for
example).
We have recently bought a belkin wireless extender to increase the range of
the primary (ABC) wireless network.
I have manually configured the extender (SSID = belkin54g) with the WPA
encryption details of router ABC and the extender seems to connect fine to
ABC.
Now, when I place the extender in a far away place where we have a weak
signal, I can see 2 SSIDs - ABC (weak signal) and belkin54g (strong signal).
Which of the SSIDs should I be connecting to? I thought I should still
connect to the original ABC signal, but it's signal DOESN'T seem to have
been boosted by the extender...?
Or am I supposed to connect to the belkin54g SSID, which in turn takes me
though to the original ABC router?
I'm a little confused here as I've never set one of these up before. Should
I be renaming the extender SSID to the same SSID of the wireless network
that I am trying to extend? The documentation wasn't clear about this (good
ole Belkin!)
Any help much appreciated.
Alan
