a) Has the design been signed off?
if yes then
b) Two days
else
c) Your talking about a whole look and feel that can take X amount of
days depending on the concept/look & feel the client is after..Do they
want flash in there?

If you need to design the concept/look & feel 'In my experience' its a
case of 'encouraging' the client to go down a route that 'in your
experience' best suits their requirements - that's what they pay you
for as an advisor/experienced advisor. Other wise you will be coming
up with concept ideas from now until what will feel like for ever...
