Words out of my mouth, there, D. It's more amazing how Apple has managed to
keep tapping into the marketing concept of "geek cool" whilst now delivering
nothing more revolutionary than the modern equivalent of a decent hi-fi.

"Buffs" maybe. "Geeks", nah.

It is, however, about time that someone with charisma dragged the general
consuming public kicking and screaming towards the mobile all-in-one ideal.
Hopefully by the time the competitors have caught up (which, using the iPod
as a model, should be about three or four years), the combined take-up will
reduce the average running costs and increase the capacities to the extent
that one can actually do something useful with it.

Apple are only one step ahead as usual. Still, in such a flat field, that's
all it takes... a lesson there, imho.

:)
