[BNM] [OT] iPod / iTunes question

After bitching about Apple for the past 8 years or so, I thought it
was time to see what all the fuss is about, so I bought a 30gb iPod
today. Not only has it managed to BSOD my PC (first time it's ever
crashed), but the iPod has required a factory reset 3 times. Nice.

Anyway, iTunes... I currently have all of my mp3s sitting on a share
on my ubuntu box, so my mp3s can be accessed from anything on my
network.
I would like to point iTunes at this share, but if i do that, will
iTunes reorganise my mp3s, and fill them full of DRM badness? I really
don't want my mp3s reorganised or touched in any way..

Another quick Q - will I be able to stick my mp3s at work onto my iPod?
