[BNM] monitor offer - good or bad?

I'd opt to buy a TFT from www.aria.co.uk - for a few extra quid, they will
do a dead-pixel check for you before they ship it out.

Quite useful if you're spending a lot of bucks on a nice screen.

Subject: [BNM] monitor offer - good or bad?

Hello,
(slight bias against Dabs- take with pinch of salt)

I'm no monitor expert. That's about 120 quid for a 19 inch monitor which
isn't bad. Not sure about whether it's actually any good. I'd probably buy
it! I'd make sure the number in miliseconds (refresh/response not suer how
relevant to DVI) is low and comparable to some other monitors. I'd check
inputs e.g. DVI/VGA?? Might be an issue for fast changing screen (gaming).

As it's Dabs I would take a good look at the returns policy. The thing with
a monitor is the dead pixel thing and you can't really tell if it's got any
until it arrives. Given the choice I'd rather open the box and try before I
buy with a monitor. Having said that I bought my monitor about 2 years ago
from aria and it was/is fine.

I've not bought anything expensive from Dabs since they really messed me
about on a graphics card I bought. I can't remember if it was in their
returns policy but i was told to deal with the manufacturer rather than
them. Fine if the card was old but I'd had it about a week. Moan over, I'm
sure in the majority of cases they're fine but it only takes one bad
experience to put you off.
