I've not got a La Fonera, but I do have one of their original
subsidised WRT54Gs.
It does what it says on the tin.
I've never found another FON node anywhere where I've needed access
though, so it's more about the cheap/free wireless router than
anything else, at least at this stage.

Remember, your ISPs T&Cs may prevent you sharing your WiFi like this.
And you need to leave the free router on and working for a year - it
phones home to make sure you've not just bagged a free router.
