I also use sipgate for 2 numbers and have one of the large clunky  Broadstream phones which are advertised on their site. Sometimes have a bit of trouble dialling out but for the most part it is good. Very cheap for calling abroad, Also like the fact that when someone leaves a message I can get a message on my mobile to tell me it is there and can also get email notification. 
 
A bit expensive for calling mobiles. Can send sms as if from my mobile for 6p. I understand that it is more secure than skype but not up to speed on the details.
