spam assassin is fine on low volume servers, it completely falls apart
when you start pulling through serious traffic e.g dual opteron, 60,000
messages (can't remember if this was daily or weekly) 100% cpu
utilisation with the C based spamd.

there is a script which keeps your SA definitions up to date, though I
don't have the url at hand atm, you'd be better off implementing grey
listing 1st using postgrey if your using postfix or spamd if you're
running *BSD.
