[BNM] Wikipedia - IP paranoia

But now I am completely paranoid about how much of what we write on the
web can be tracked back to an IP address. For example, can an IP be
associated to message boards posts too? I'm almost scared to google it.

Yes.

I would guess that 80% of sites on the internet record your ip so that
it can be used to block you if you cause a problem, and is also used for
tracking of user habits etc. You will always be tracked by your ip.
