[BNM] pdf problem

Hello,
Has anyone experienced this problem with IE and acrobat reader?

We have a website with lots of pdfs on. If you click on a link which is a 
direct link to a pdf then no problem, the pdf opens. If you have a link 
which does say document.pdf but instead does a bit of php to drag a blob 
from a database and show the pdf you get a
"do you want to open or save this file" dialogue; which is fine for me but 
we're finding that for some the pdf will not open. We' ve got adobe reader 
6 on some PCs. I've tested this on adobe reader 6 and don't have the 
problem but some do??

The plugin recognises the fact that it is a pdf but the dialogue box comes 
up in this case rather than just opening the pdf.

Any ideas?
