[BNM] [OT] is there an air show on the south coast

Yep - it's eastbourne airshow now and other the weekend.  Our house is just at the end of the runway to Shoreham and a lot of planes for eastbourne stop at shoreham.  Infact, we are off to the airport tomorrow and/or saturday as last year we found a number of planes stop there and their pilots chat to you etc... while they are waiting for their slot for eastbournce.  Last year there were two Harriers being based at shoreham for the show and the pilots put on a small display just for the people are shoreham, and when landed came back and signed loads of photos and things for the children.
