That sounds like pub climate science to me. Yes, it's feasible that
climate change is changing the flow of the gulf stream (increased
influx of cold fresh water diluting the north atlantic thermohaline
circulation) but there aren't sufficiently robust data to say this is
happening, and attributing the wet summer to a failing gulf stream
isn't helpful. This summer is within the bounds of 'normal' weather,
although rather extreme. The issue with climate chnage is that the
likelyhood of extreme events is increasing.

No. Summer will still be summer. It just won't be what your storybooks
tell you it should be.
Winter will still be winter. Maybe it will be storybook snows. Maybe
it will be dry droughts.
Most probably: no-one knows.
